Biography
It is in the taxi, between the porte de la Chapelle and the Porte Maillot, by an oppressive heat of a hot summer, that was born on July 3rd, 1971 at 3 pm Yann Saint-Pé.

IMAGE At the age of 13, to go several times a week into the small rooms of the cinemas of the Latin district, he has to increase and quintuple the amount of his allowance and so creates "Le Petit Journal",(" The Small Newspaper ").

He interviews Bruno Cremer, Michel Blanc and especially Serge Gainsbourg ,vertiginous meeting, that he will see periodically from 1984 to 1991. It is him who introduces him and urges him to go to see Billy Wilder's films and it is a love at first sight absolved for the director and his work.

(CANAL) +Channel + notices him in a street of the Forum des Halles and embrigades him straightaway to present a quite new broadcast: "Canaille Hebdo".

It is in full July, alone on a commonplace country road of Villennes sur Seine, the hood of its sweet-shirt on ears, that he dreams and imagines his future: he will write scenarios and will realize them. From this summer, he locks himself into his bedroom and drafts so-so his first scenario. Some years later, at the age of 15, with the savings of "Le Petit Journal" ( "The small newspaper" ) and the savings of some advertisements, he realizes and autoproduces his first short film "Taime du mot Je t'aime" (" Love You of the word I love you! "). It is a disaster, but he builds up himself.

At the age of 16 he runs away and takes a ferry for Corsica. In his return, two and a half months later, he is convinced that his life is in the cinema and nothing else. But the cinema, that does not please his dad therefor dissension with his father: a door closes and there he is totally delivered to himself, with twenty cents, a toothbrush and the freedom to live his passion.

Two years pass,and one day after he turns 18, he picks up his first training course in the realization and it is on Etienne's Chatiliez film " Tatie Danielle " that he makes his first weapons.

Thanks to the New Year's gifts of Tatie Danielle, he goes out of the scarcity and can write a new short film, completely dedicated to Fanny Ardant. He asks for the help of Jean Gruault (scriptwriter of Truffaut), who directs him rather to Bernard REVONS, the other scriptwriter, the big accomplice of François Truffaut, Claude Sautet and director of the "TURLUPINS". Meeting. Admiration. Friendship. Yann Saint-Pé is accepted, even adopted and becomes his pupil and a spiritual son. Eight years of learning in the scenario where Bernard REVONS privileges the human being and the contents. Serge Rousseau, the discoverer of Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, Miou-Miou, will also give him some directions.

In 1998, having followed the lessons of criminology, Yann Saint-Pé writes "Résurrection" ("Resurection") for Alain Berberian, the director of " Les Nuls"( The Uselesses). Finally, the "Resurrection " is shot by Russell Mulcahy with Christophe Lambert. The same year, he leaves for the Eastern European countries as the second, then the first assistant of Josée Dayan on the movie "Balzac". That amuses him, he learns but it is far from being a sinecure. He will like up to the end in spite of the tyranny of the director of Nobody's Perfect. At once in his return, he creates "I Love You Production" and shoots in a circus boots in mud, a short film of 22 minutes,"Ouvre c'est Papa!" (" Open It is Dad! "). TPS buys it.
His father discovers the film. The door now half-opens again.

In 2002, he begins the writing of two lengths-measurements, two personal projects, for the cinema: "La Belle et le Nobel" ("the Beautiful and The Nobel") and "La Petite Fiancée" (" The Small Fiancée "). Unifrance distributes "Ouvre c'st Papa!" (" Open It is Dad! ") to compete in various international festivals. A copy is pulled in English. Summer, 2002, Yann Saint-Pé is the production assistant of André Techiné on "Les Egarés" (" The Misled ") with Emmanuelle Béart and Gaspard Ulliel.
In 2005, an order of the USA and Christophe Lambert for a new writing of macabre film comes to him.

IMAGE Yann Saint-Pé and Olivier Bohler, his co-author, specialist of Jean-Pierre Melville, leave for Italy to interview the judge anti-mafia Ferdinando Imposimato.
